We were heart-broken to cancel the 2020 festival due to public health measures. The ICFS is deeply grateful to the Errington Hall board for waiving the costs of our booking for the weekend. Thanks to their strong community spirit, we have been luckier than most small festivals. Because we haven't lost any money, we won't need to recover this year's losses from next year's ticket sales.
It's not all good news, though. Our funding model for this festival since the beginning is that we just pay for everything out of our own pockets, then cross our fingers that the ticket sales are enough to get our money back AND pay the performers well. The trouble is, we are all musicians too. The pandemic has not been kind to musicians - there's no guarantee we will be able to pony up the whole budget next year before a single ticket is sold. Your donation will help to ensure this beloved annual gathering continues to thrive in a post-pandemic world. Missing live music?Enjoy a Skewlines show from home. We don't mind if you get up to go to the bathroom in the middle of a song or play with your phone the whole time. We don't even mind flash photography, but it's probably not worth your trouble.
Missing new recorded music?Recorded in Montreal in 2005, the Composium project undermined divisive attitudes within the Montreal music community by giving everyone something fun to do and asking them to work together to achieve it.
The more the merrierWe'd be happy to post your own home recordings until we meet again. We are all in this together.

Support trauma healing through collaborative creativity
Music Seeds International makes learning fun. Students are engaged using music as the tool. Through a variety of programs kids learn about language, creativity, self expression, and important social issues by writing, singing and recording songs and videos. These are seen around the world through social media and the Internet. Kids love music videos, and when they are starring in their own, confidence and self-esteem rise.

N'we Jinan develops, implements, and executes artistic and educational programs in First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities and schools. Participants learn about sound recording, music production, songwriting, voice and performance. Within the studios’ residency, original songs are created containing messages that focus on cultural identity, language, struggle, love and self acceptance.

2019 Festival Edition, End of the Road Show, Radio Cortes
With our 35th Islands Celtic Festival edition canceled due to the pandemic, we wanted to do something for our regulars to commemorate the occasion. Last year we got lucky when a couple of hippies from Cortez rolled in on a bus and stayed there all weekend, recording the atmosphere, the history of the festival, and the infectious enthusiasm of the festival organizers. We may not be able to gather this year, but at least we can re-live last year together! Thanks to the Highway Hippie Gregg Jolicoeur and Monica Rolinski for rollin' in!
